Suicide and Self-Harm Charity Pieta House Becomes Charity Partner to B T O’Sullivan for 2016
In 2016 B T O’Sullivan Construction Solutions Ltd wanted to focus their efforts on creating a charity partnership within the local Irish community.
Pieta House and the Darkness into Light Event held annually around the world and in Manchester will be our partnership for this year and years to come.
Pieta House is a non-profit organisation providing a specialised treatment programme for those with suicidal thoughts. Opening in 2016, in Lucan, Co Dublin Pieta House has currently helped over 30,000 people who were in suicidal distress or self-harming. Since the initial opening of the first centre, Pieta House has now grown to open twelve centres across Ireland.
It was estimated by organisers that over 100,000 people will take part in the Pieta House flagship fundraising event Darkness into Light, which sees participants set off on the 5km track in the dark finishing just as dawn breaks.
In the first DIL event at Phoenix Park, Dublin in 2009 just 200 people turned up, now with over 100,000 participants across 120 different countries across the globe raising money and awareness for Pieta House is a fantastic achievement.
